Let’s talk check in and flights, shall we?
How long will it take from the airport to the Port of Miami?
- Miami International Airport (MIA): approx. 8 miles from the ship’s pier; transfer time takes about 25-40 minutes, depending on traffic.
- Ft. Lauderdale Airport (FLL): approx. 30 miles from the ship’s pier; transfer time takes about 40-50 minutes, depending on traffic.
Note: If you plan to arrive in Miami on the day of sailing (Monday, Jan. 21) it is HIGHLY recommended you book a flight that arrives no later than 12:00 pm. You need time to get off the plane, get your luggage and make your way to the terminal. We’ve all been there. Delayed flights are a bummer. Don’t be left behind because you cut it too close!
Again, all guests must be checked-in at the ship’s pier terminal by 3:00p in order to be allowed to board the ship. NO EXCEPTIONS so plan accordingly!
What time should I book my flight home?
On Friday, January 25th, the ship’s debarkation process is expected to begin at approx. 8:00 am, depending on the ship’s clearance by local authorities. After clearance, then guests will depart the ship, claim their luggage and clear immigration/customs.
For flights departing on the day of cruise return, January 25th, we HIGHLY recommend that you book a flight that departs no earlier than 12:00p for Miami Airport (MIA) and 12:30p for Ft. Lauderdale Airport (FLL). You will already be so sad that the cruise is over, don’t add to it by missing your flight home!
